Boys & Girls Clubs Several locations Valley wide. Access online club finder for details. 1-800-854-CLUB AZ Alliance State Club Finder http://www.azabgc.org/locations.asp
|
In addition to providing safe and healthy environments for youth, Boys & Girls Clubs offer two peer leadership programs specifically designed to incorporate volunteer civic opportunities. The Boys & Girls Clubs’ Keystone (older teens) and Torch Clubs (ages 11-13) are small groups of Club members who agree upon, develop and implement their own programs and activities. Groups typically involve between 10 and 15 youth, and have as a primary focus the development of character and leadership skills. Service activities allow Club members to identify Club and community needs, develop programs and activities, and actively participate in the communities in which they live. They provide experience in the democratic process, and give young people a chance to contribute something of value to others.
